More information

What are wrist wraps?

Our wrist wraps, also called wrist supports, are designed to give you perfect support and stability in your wrists so that you prevent injuries. Our wrist supports can also help if you already have challenges with your wrists. They are usually used when you lift extra heavy at e.g. bench press, shoulder press or other press exercises.

We have chosen to manufacture our wrist supports from a high-quality, durable, and elastic combination of polyester and rubber. This is to give you the best possible stability to your wrists and for an extra long life.

Why use wrist wraps?

Our wrist wraps are developed and manufactured for increased safety, stabilization and comfort. Our wrist supports can be crucial for you to get the most out of all your press exercises. Whether you are training CrossFit, weightlifting, strength training, bodybuilding or just need more support, there is a pair for you.

How to use wrist wraps?

Here we explain how to use our wrist wraps correctly:
  1. The first thing you should do is check which of your wrist supports is for the right and left wrist, respectively. This is on the washcloth, which is on the inside of them.
  2. When you know which of your wrist supports should sit on which wrist, identify the loop and hold it in your hand.
  3. Then pull the loop between your thumb and index finger so that the loop and your wrist supports are on the outside of your hand.
  4. Then keep your wrist straight and wrap them around your wrist and then slightly up on your hand so that you cannot bend your wrist. This way you get stability in the wrist and prevent injuries. Wrap hard.
  5. When the wrist wraps, wrap ends, attach the Velcro strap and release the loop from your hand.
It is a personal preference how hard you prefer your wrist supports to sit on the wrist, and can be different hard depending on which exercise you are going to use them in. Some prefer to wrap them so tightly that they have to wrap them up immediately after lifting for blood circulation to return to normal.

What length of wrist wraps?

The choice of length of wrist wraps is an important factor to consider when you want to optimize support and performance during your training. Different lengths of wrist wraps offer varying levels of support and adaptability, allowing you to find the perfect solution for your specific needs and training goals.

The reason there are different lengths of wrist wraps is that they are designed to meet a variety of needs and preferences among athletes and individuals who train. Shorter wrist wraps generally provide lighter support and greater freedom of movement, which can be advantageous for those performing exercises that require agility and flexibility in the wrists. On the other hand, longer wrist wraps offer more comprehensive support and stability, which may be more appropriate for heavier lifts and exercises where maximum support is essential.

To choose the right length of wrist wraps for your needs, you should consider factors such as your training goals, the type of exercises you perform, and your personal preference for support and comfort. It may also be a good idea to experiment with different lengths and types of wrist wraps to find the best solution for you. NTGear offers a wide range of high-quality wrist wraps in various lengths and flexibilities, so you can easily find the perfect combination of support and comfort for your training.

Regardless of what length of wrist wraps you choose, it's important to use them correctly to get the most out of their supportive properties and minimize the risk of injuries.

Using wrist wraps in powerlifting

Wrist wraps, play an important role in powerlifting by offering support, stability, and protection for the wrists. Powerlifting often involves lifting heavy weights, which can expose the wrists to high loads and increase the risk of injuries. Our wrist wraps are not IPF approved

The use of wrist wraps in powerlifting has several benefits, such as:
  1. Improved support and stability: Wrist wraps provide extra support to the wrists and help to keep them in a stable position during lifts, which can contribute to more efficient power transfer and better technique.
  2. Prevention of injuries: By offering support and limiting excessive movement, wrist wraps can help to reduce the risk of overuse injuries and wear and tear in the wrists.
  3. Improved performance: With better support and stability, you can lift heavier weights and achieve personal records with greater confidence.
However, there are some potential downsides to using wrist wraps in powerlifting, such as they can reduce the range of motion and limit the development of own strength in the wrists if used too often.

Wrist wraps in powerlifting can be especially useful for people who have previous injuries, weakness in the wrists, or those who lift very heavy weights. Even though they can be useful for most powerlifters, it's important not to become too dependent on them and to train without them to strengthen the wrists naturally.

In powerlifting, wrist wraps are often used in two different exercises, bench press and squats, as they often involve heavy weights and large loads on the wrists. However, it's important to use them correctly and to follow advice from coaches or experienced athletes to achieve the best possible results.
